Scope

CSIRO had been advised by Government Regulators to shutdown the flow loop for regulatory non-compliance. Imperium’s scope was to classify the facility and assess equipment for compliance to EEHA requirements.

Result

Imperium completed classification and equipment specification review for the project which supported the regulators position. We provided a pathway to achieve compliance with BV/CSIRO, this included a 3D scan and model development in the event that CSIRO wished to continue the path to compliance. Unfortunately, the costs associated with achieving compliance were too great to justify continued operation of the Hydrates Flow Loop and it was shut down permanently.

How We Did It Better

Imperium critically reviewed the facility and the Regulatory and Australian Standard requirements and with our unrivalled knowledge and understanding provided a detailed path to achieve compliance. Our assessment provided a compliant outcome, however, the cost of compliance for this facility did not pass the ROI requirements of CSIRO.
